Due to Corvid-19 – Our guests and visitors may need to:
- Stay at home if you have high-risk health issues or are above 60 years of age. People in this group are recommended not to travel.
- Complete a Medical declaration (For symptoms or suspected COVID-19 infection) and a travel declaration to aid in contact tracing should the need arise.
- Do without daily services and linen changes during your stay.
- Sacrifice some of the properties soft furnishings like rugs, carpets and cushions as well as additional items like magazines, newspapers, games, and some decor items. This is to reduce the number of surfaces which can be touched.
- Stay at home if COVID-19 starts spreading your immediate community, or anyone in your group has even a mild cough or low-grade fever (37.3 C or more).
- Make use of on-line reservations, email and telephone calls rather than face to face communication at Happy Holiday Homes office.
How the virus is spread from person-to-person
- Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet/less than 2 meters).
- Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
- These droplets can land in the eyes, mouth or nose of people who are nearby and/or inhaled into the lungs.
- Recent studies suggest that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not yet showing symptoms.
Signs and symptoms
The following symptoms develop within 14 days after exposure to someone who has COVID-19 infection:
- Difficulty in breathing
- Sore throat
COVID-19 can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
How to help prevent the spread of COVID -19
- Wash your hands – Wash your hands often to avoid contamination, apply soap and lather up to a soapy consistency, rub hands and fingers together wash for at least 20 seconds then rinse of and dry hands with disposable towelling if available, if not shake hands dry and let them dry off completely.
- Cover – Your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing and discard the used tissue in a bin immediately do not leave it lying around in your working area.
- Avoid – Touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean – Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects such as surfaces, Cellular phones, hand tools, electrical hand tools, measuring instruments, keyboards, etc.
Additional preventative measures for self-catering accommodation during COVID-19
- Avoid handshakes.
- Avoid gatherings or areas where the public tend to gather such as shopping centres, Clubs, churches, etc.
- When unavoidable and in queues maintain distances of 2 meters between you and the person behind and in front of you.
- Avoid touching doorknobs & handles / surfaces / balustrades / handles/ railings, etc unless you have to.
- All customers and contractors are encouraged to call ahead before arriving at the office to make an appointment. Where possible the customers and contractors are to be helped over the phone or online to reduce contact. Where this is not possible the customers and contractors are to be assisted outside the office front door and they as well as the staff assisting must wear either a cloth mask or a home-made item that covers mouth & nose.
- Should it be necessary for customers or contractor to enter the office they must remain behind the line on the floor in front of the reception counter. They must wear either a cloth mask or a home-made item that covers mouth & nose while in the office.
- Only one person (Other than the office staff) is allowed into the office at any given time.
- Most importantly, we implore our guests who might display any flu-like symptoms, to consider the well-being of other guests, and to cancel or postpone their stay with us.
- Any staff displaying flu-like symptoms will not be permitted on the premises.
- We will continue to monitor and update hygiene practices as we receive guidance from National Health.
- We are encouraging social distancing amongst staff and guests. There will be a minimization of contact between employees and guests.
- We use only approved cleaning and sanitary materials.
- Medically-approved hand sanitisers will be available at the reception, on counters and tables. We encourage guests to consistently make use of them.
Whenever an Occupier leaves his unit, that person must be wearing a cloth face mask or an item that covers the nose and mouth. [Regulation 51]
